Fletcher joins Team India for T20 World Cup

Mirpur: Under-flame mentor Duncan Fletcher on Saturday joined the Indian group for the Twenty20 World Cup in the wake of having had examinations about his future with BCCI president N Srinivasan and secretary Sanjay Patel.

"Duncan Fletcher arrived today. Bowling mentor Joe Dawes and fielding mentor Trevor Penny had arrived the previous evening. The squad quality, including players and help staff, is 26," Indian team`s media supervisor R N Baba told PTI here.

Fletcher had been summoned by Srinivasan for a gathering in Chennai yesterday to talk about the team`s drooping exhibitions recently yet no cautioning was issued to him that his occupation was on line in spite of calls for his ouster from batting symbol like Sunil Gavaskar.

"Give me a chance to set the record straight. Duncan Fletcher has the wholehearted sponsorship and backing of BCCI. There has been no examination on his evacuation. We let him know that we have a considerable measure of confidence in his guiding capacities and he ought not be agonized over all else," Patel had told PTI.
